Day trip to quarry pond Diez 24.06.2023

The “Diezer Baggersee” as it is colloquially called is an up to 16 mtr. deep quarry lake on the Lahn in the southern Westerwald. It is a beautiful quarry lake and is one of the few dive spots with a dive center within a 50 km radius. There you can dive big rock walls and canyons. For divers there is a lot to see under water, the orientation is made easy for them by ropes. There is a platform, two VW Beetles and various sculptures and figures that were sunk especially for this purpose. There are numerous fish like sturgeons, carp, pike, etc. There are also some wrecks like an old car wreck from a VW Beetle. A tube is like a long dark tunnel that invites you to dive through it.

Entry into the lake is possible via a former road/ramp or via stairs. The base offers us rental equipment, bottle fillings. If you like, you can get sausages, soup, tea and coffee in the gastronomy provided.

Since it worked so well last time, we’ll meet right at the base.
